Zakari is Deputy Chief of Party of USAID Monitoring and Evaluation Management Program in Nigeria. He has excellent analytical skills and understanding of USAID donor practice in Nigeria. Zakari has worked on development issues around Health, Education and Governance all his life in the core Northern part of Nigeria. He recently served as Acting Chief of Party, for Nigeria MEMS and Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist coordinating the activities of Health Population and Nutrition, Education, Peace and Democracy and the Economic Growth AO Teams for Nigeria USAID.
Zakari has skills include the ability to multi-task, stay organized and to adjust to different work conditions in a fast and timely fashion. They also include being dependable, organized and observant with the ability to pay close to attention to detail. I have an influential personality and possess strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly.

Backstopped successfully for the Chief of Party on various occasion, upholding management policies and procedures, providing administrative leadership and system coordination;
Achieved a turn-around of an inherited issue-ridden M&E system by professional application of M&E principles, standard of practice and coordinating all M&E activities involving staff from the Implementing partners units and supervision of each sub recipient partners (IP or IA) M&E officers in over 50 Implementing partners across states within Nigeria;
Served as a coach and advisor to Project Managers and M&E officers of partners by building of the capacity of in-country and field project staff in M&E processes, tools and overall system management as applied to their respective functions within the MEMS project;
Monitored the performance of all the tasks stipulated in work plan and coordinated project objectives with program managers and other project staff;
Designed, managed project data management methodology; and review Evaluation Scope of Works for quality control and consistency with budget.
Coordinated the conduct of baseline, midline and end line surveys, data quality assessments (DQA), performance monitoring, institutional capacity assessment, review procedures on -tools, data, system and portfolio; maintained a high level accurate reporting standard resulting in an efficient and proactive M&E system that contributed to the overall success of MEMS project;
Coordinated the preparation of monthly, quarterly and/or semi-annual reports for MEMS TMG home office and USAID;
Produced and disseminated routine and periodic information products, highlighting the performance and achievement of MEMS project;
Coordinated the conduct of a mid-term and end of project evaluation, drew detailed concept note for implementation plan, facilitated the process of engagement of consultants (external evaluators) and provided administrative leadership to the whole process;
Contributed to the implementation and oversight of the MEMS project by providing substantive input and support to staff and project partners.
